Ex-Rep. Max Rose joins Eric Adams’ pal Frank Carone’s consulting firm

Former New York Rep. Max Rose is making a new career move, joining a consulting firm launched by Mayor Eric Adams’ ex-chief of staff Frank Carone.

Rose, an Army vet who also worked for the Defense Department, will be the new managing director for federal and international affairs at Oaktree Solutions.

“Frank’s a great guy… I’m excited to work with him and learn from him. This is always about people coming together with mutually allied values and interests,” Rose told The Post.

“I think the organization that Frank is building is really situated to help organizations address really complicated, really, really difficult challenges,” he said.

Rose wouldn’t disclose which clients of Carone’s he’ll specifically be dealing with.

Carone has reportedly already picked up high-profile clients like New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley, as well as Northwell Health, the state’s largest hospital and health care provider, and SL Green Realty, the real estate company bidding for a Times Square casino.

Rose has done his own private consulting and brings his Washington DC connections and private sector ties to the table.

The Democrat was elected to the House in the Staten Island-southern Brooklyn 11th congressional district during the 2018 blue wave, defeating GOP incumbent Dan Donovan.

But he lost his re-election bid to Republican Rep. Nicole Malliotakis in 2020.

Malliotakis also soundly defeated Rose in a 2022 rematch in the more conservative district, making a Rose comeback — at least in the House of Representatives — difficult.

Rose said he’d draw on his experience and connections made in Congress and as a former DOD official.

“From the White House’s vantage point, from the country’s at this point, New York matters. New York City really, really matters, the success of New York City really, really matters,” Rose said.

“I certainly look forward to and we will seize any possible opportunity to try to help do right by New York and do right by the country. It’s how I live my life, that’s not changing.”

While Carone is currently barred from lobbying City Hall, Rose didn’t rule out working with Adams, who endorsed him in his losing bid for Congress last year.

Rose also did not rule out another political comeback down the road.

Carone said he was thrilled that Rose will be a major partner in his firm.

“He’s already working on clients for us that have international complexities concerns about federal regulatory issues — but I’m not going to be limiting him to that,” Carone said.

He said Rose is talking with clients or potential clients in Korea and Ukraine.

Carone did say Rose is working with two other clients, Moshe Cohen, founder and CEO at Gravity Inc. and Gravity Technologies, a mobility start-up focusing on electric vehicle fleets; and Joseph Currey, a former Bear Stearns manager who is CEO of equity firm Orbit Holdings, which invests in real estate, infrastructure, and cold storage such as energy efficient refrigeration.

“Max has lived his life with service and integrity and we are very fortunate to have his keen insight into international and national complexities. Our firm is fortunate to have someone with such experience and work ethic,” Carone said.

He said Rose will lobby the Adams administration when his own one-year ethics restriction on working with his former boss and pal expires on January 1.
